i’m so happy because y/n liked it
this year’s gayo daechukje was great
because we had our own stage
and got to do a collab stage too
there were a lot of people in the joint stage, right? ㅋㅋㅋㅋ
but our group had a pretty big part ㅋㅋ
i worked hard on the tripleS part,
but it’s a bit disappointing
that my baby hairs covered my face… 🥲
during the camera rehearsal, they weren’t falling down at all ㅠㅠ
so i brushed them back,
but by the time we were performing, they were down again
and
although no one would know if I didn’t say it
but i’ll tell you anyway
my earring fell off during my close-up shot ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ
it was during the part where i’m walking to *“this is the first time i felt this way”*
and right at that moment, my earring just… fell off. ㅋㅋㅋㅋ
go back and watch itㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ
if it had fallen off during a wide shot,
that would’ve been fine
but why did it have to fall during a close-up? ^\_^
it’s like murphy’s law, you know?
i didn’t even realize it fell off at the time
it wasn’t until i came down and started monitoring the performance,
and touched my ear while brushing my hair back,
that i realized the earring was gone
i was like, “?? huh? where did it go?”
and then i thought, “could it be on the stage?”
so i checked the footage again,
and sure enough, it fell during that part
ugh, and of course, during a close-up.
now the moment is immortalized as proof forever
afterward, i showed the video to the stylist unnie
and explained that i must’ve left the earring on stage
she said it’s okay and not to worry about it.
but while watching the monitor, she was like
“oh, chaeyeon’s sparkly… huh? something fell. what’s that?”
she didn’t realize it was my earring until I told her ㅋㅋㅋㅋ
ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ
so yeah, other than the earring issue and the baby hair issue,
the *first love* stage was great 🥺
was i pretty today? ㅎㅎㅎㅎ
i liked how i looked today too,
so that makes it feel even more frustrating, you know?
i looked so nice…
but my baby hairs just had to cover me…
if it was a bad day, i’d be like, “oh, thanks”
but why on a good day?
when i could’ve looked even prettier?
ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ you get it, right?
but it wasn’t like they covered me completely or anything.
just a little bit, barely noticeable, really.
the members and the staff all said i looked pretty,
so i feel reassured

so that’s the behind-the-scenes story of *first love*
other than the earring
there’s one more thing
there’s that part in the choreography where we lie on the floor and then get up,
and after that, when we gather at the center,
it’s during the line *“before i go to see you, i’m so excited”*
it’s just a walking part with no specific gestures,
but during the camera rehearsal,
i thought it looked a bit plain.
and since it’s a close-up shot, i figured i should do something
so until just before going on stage, I brainstormed gestures,
like pushing my hair to one side,
putting both hands on my chest,
and closing my eyes.
there were others, like reaching my hand out or winking at the camera,
but right before going up, i decided,
“okay, let’s just go with bringing both hands to my chest and closing my eyes.”
and that’s what i did ㅋㅋ
did it look okay? 😂
so that’s how that part became something I made up on the spot. ㅎㅎ
but it was nice that tripleS got to wrap up the individual parts\! 👉🏻👈🏻

starting from *“sometimes i pace in front of the mirror,”*
it was just group parts from then on
honestly, i only really got to know the song *first love* properly
because of this cover stage
so getting to perform such an iconic song
in 2024\!
on a year-end stage like this
feels amazing

when i was on bonihani
i used to pass through jayuro *(t/n: jayuro expressway)* on my way there.
so places like ilsan and paju ㅋㅋ
during the gayo daechukje rehearsals the other day,
and on my way back home today,
we took jayuro again
it made me think of the bonihani days,
and it felt nice
it was like my past and present overlapping for a moment
*back to 2019*, you know?

but in 2024,
the jayuro drive was with y/n,
so i was happy 🤍
in the future,
i hope we can say *back to 2024* together.
