but when we were recording love child,
the composer said to me, after hearing the take:
“do you know when a composer is happiest?
when an artist sings the song i wrote really well…”
and i got so emotional right there in the booth
thanks to that, i got more confident and did even better during the final take 🥺👍🏻
and i was really grateful that
they let me choose together with them,
and even re-record some parts that felt a bit lacking
just being given that kind of say in the process
made the recording feel even happier
